Mid-Winter Scarletfest and Norman Ren Faire
About Me
I'm a wife and mother of two, ages 21 and 24, and I work for a major retail chain in the electronics department. I've taught Sunday School for over 20 years, and am now the song director at our church. And yes, I'm a bellydancer, and I'm 47 years old as of this writing. I'm also very short (hobbit-sized?). ^^;;;
Just did my social profile; WHY ISN'T THERE A 4 FT. NINE THING? :(
Music
Contemporary Christian, classical, classical/pop fusion, Middle Eastern and bhangra, most all genres of rock music
Movies
Anything with viral zombies, talking robots that turn into cars, superheroes, or space aliens. ^^ I also love fantasy and period films, such as LOTR, and Ever After
TV
I don't watch a lot of T.V. anymore; if I like a show, I'll usually get boxed sets of seasons. I'm still a big fan of Stargate SG-1 and other sci-fi shows, but I'm mainly into Japanese anime, DragonballZ being my ALL-TIME favorite. I also like Bleach, Naruto, Yu-Yu-Hakusho, Wolf's Rain, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, and others that I can't think of right now because it's 2:55 in the morning...oO;;
Books
The Holy Bible (Authorized King James Version only), The Two Babylons, Fox's Book of Martyrs, Play To The Angel, The Joy Luck Club, Anne Frank's Diary, In Search of David's Heart, books on history (especially ancient history), dictionaries, encyclopedias, non-fiction, children's books, just about anything by Shakespeare

My goodness, it's been far too long since I've been here. I apologize for my extended absences from this site. Waaaaaaaay too much offline life going on.
2009 hasn't been such a great year for me. Too many changes at work that no one likes, a little bit of private drama that has been getting on my last frayed nerve, Scarletfest is no more starting next year, but worst of all, I lost my loving step-dad right before Halloween. It's been hard for me, especially since I'm finding out things about Dad now that I never knew before (like how he carried a picture of me in a special place in his wallet), and it's heart-breaking to see what my mother is going through right now. They loved each other so much, and now he's gone.
I'm sorry, I can't go on with this entry right now. I'm trying to hold together for my mother's sake. Thank you for being my friends.
Oh, my, it has been awhile since my last blog post. I hope all of my Ren friends are doing well, and that your new year has gotten off to a wonderful start.
My bellydance friends and I will be going to the Scarletfest Indoor Ren Faire in Oklahoma City, which is being held Saturday, January 24th, and Sunday, January 25th at the Historic Farmer's Market and Event's Center (I'll only be attending on the 25th, unless there's a change of plans). Here's a link to more info (hope this works):
Words are little things. On paper, they look innocent, insignificant, innocuous; black markings standing out against a blank field.
Yet, words wield a power that can rival the natural forces. It has been said that "actions speak louder than words." But words can prompt action.
Words have spread hatred and discontent, sent both innocent and guilty to their deaths, incited riots, and caused wars. Words have driven peasants into revolt, and executed kings and queens.
Words have caused strife between friends, between family members, estranged spouses, and led them to divorce courts. The harm caused by words can be great.
Yet, words also have the power to do great things. Words can bring comfort to those who are troubled, make peace between warring nations, or between warring individuals.
God's spoken word brought the universe, and all its' wonders, into existence. The most significant Word of all was born in a stable, and died on the Cross for sinful man.
Words have the power to do great evil, or good. We must choose our words wisely, carefully, to have a positive impact on the world.
